The New VAIO S

SonyStyle is taking pre-orders and will let you customize the model by maximizing it and pimping it out with the latest and greatest. We’d say this model will definitely throw some punches against the new Macs and HPs you may see on the market. We customized to the max and ended up with a pretty nice configuration for $2269 with the following:
  • Intel® Coreâ„¢ i7-2620M processor (2.70GHz) with Turbo Boost up to 3.40GHz
  • Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • White Color
  • AMD Radeonâ„¢ 6630M GPU (1GB VRAM)
  • 256GB (128GBx2) Solid State Drive with RAID 0 Technology
  • 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3-SDRAM-1333
  • 13.3″ VAIO Display with LED backlight (1366 x 768)
  • Blu-ray Discâ„¢  Drive
  • Large Capacity Sheet Battery
The notebook looked solid and made of magnesium casing, is pretty light at about 3.8 pounds, features a USB 3.0 port and compatibility with Intel Wireless Display (anyone actually uses it?) The above configuration comes with that Sheet battery that will double the notebook’s life and will actually discharge first before getting any juice from the notebook embedded battery life. So this thing will last for a while if you are flying coach JFK to Tokyo.
It’s a great addition to the extended VAIO family line up, and we’ll shed some more light on it once we get one to play with. For now check out this video made by Sony’s SGNL.
